Providing Safe Spaces for Families to Connect
We understand how isolating it can feel to have a sick child. LilyPads Housing is committed to providing safe spaces for families to connect and support one another as they navigate their medical journeys. We understand that it can be difficult to connect with other families because of the demands of caring for an child with medical issues. We currently host a private Facebook group for UVA Children's Hospital families and will also soon have a monthly parent support group for families that will meet both in-person and via Zoom. UVA Children's Hospital Family Facebook Group
LilyPads Housing helps moderate a private Facebook group for families and caregivers who are currently receiving care, or who have received past care, for a child at UVA Children's Hospital. The group provides resources, educational materials, and a safe space to connect with other hospital families. You do not need to be a member of LilyPads Housing to join, however you must answer the required questions.
Coming Soon! In-Person Support Group
LilyPads Housing is currently working with UVA Children's Hospital to begin hosting a monthly, parent support group with both in-personal and virtual options. The group will provide a mix of social activities, workshops, speakers, and other educational opportunities.
